Juice cleanse by Detox Delight

Recently I bumped into an article about a juice cleanse and my thoughts were something like who lasts that long on juices only? Let me tell you more about my experience with a Juice Delight Cleanse by Detox Delight which lasted three days(!)

What do I get to drink a day for three days?

  • 1X 440ML Lemonade
  • 4X 440ML Fruit- and vegetable juice (cold-pressed, different recipes)
  • 1X 440ML Nut milk (vegan)

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I received my box end May, this was a very impulsive decision but, it would be a waste not to use the juices. During the cleansing days, the fresh juices are consumed at an interval of about every 2 hours, this was very hard to schedule because I wake up early and don’t want to go to bed hungry.

Day one – Monday

On Mondays, I work from home = unlimited access to all the food in my house. I drink my first juice around nine o’clock. At 11 o’clock I’m feeling very hungry and go for my second detox juice. I can’t stop thinking about all the food I can’t eat. Around 1 o’clock I start my third disgusting drink, this one tastes a lot like ginger and if there is one thing I can’t stand its ginger. Moving on to the store where I almost fainted and felt like throwing up so I picked up a salad and ate it. Around 6 o’clock I drank bottle four, a bit too late but I fell asleep. I drank the fifth bottle a bit later combined it with raw carrots. I forgot about the last vegan milk, oops.

Day two – Tuesday

After yesterday’s meltdown in the store, I prepared some brown rice with tomatoes, two apples and a banana to take to work with me. I drink my first drink at 7 o’clock while I’ve been awake since 5 am. Because work was busy I drank my second bottle a bit later. I ate a banana around 10’ish because I felt hungry. Lunch was throwing half the bottle of bottle four in the trash because I almost had to throw up because of the ginger. I ate some brown rice with tomatoes around and emptied my fourth bottle by 2 o’clock. After that, I drank my fifth bottle around dinner time with some raw carrots and finished the vegan milk together with a kiwi before bed.

Day three – Wednesday

Working-day. Last day before a very-long-weekend, I’m not feeling hungry but empty my first bottle at 7 o’clock. I am very busy at work and forget about my next one which makes me feel very dizzy so I’m drinking this and eating brown rice with tomatoes. I’m also doing this because I’m planning ok skipping the ginger juice. After that, I drank number four around 3 o’clock. When I got home around five I ate a fresh fruit salad with my fifth juice and just before heading to bed the vegan milk.

Personal views on detoxing

To be honest, my partner was surprised that I did this well, I’m a real food-lover, I could eat all the time and am always looking forward to my next meal. The first day was very hard, I did eat a salad, some raw carrots and tomatoes. The second day was better and by the third day, there were no hungry feelings. I did see some results and feel healthier.
